چکیده

One of the most significant defects, porosity, has been proven to affect properties composites. It is critical reduce porosity composite material and curing cost while maintaining high laminate quality for vacuum bag-only prepreg. In this paper, a rapidly cured epoxy resin system was developed, an alkali-free glass fiber fabric prepreg suitable bag molding prepared by asymmetric impregnation method. The optimal process determined kinetics, dielectric viscosity, initial temperature, time on quality. profile obtained. addition, effect room temperature exposure also evaluated. These laminates produced had outstanding internal mechanical via changes in procedure.

Evaluation of Double-Vacuum-Bag Process For Composite Fabrication

A non-autoclave vacuum bag process using atmospheric pressure alone that eliminates the need for external pressure normally supplied by an autoclave or a press is an attractive method for composite fabrication. This type of process does not require large capital expenditures for tooling and processing equipment. In the molding cycle (temperature/pressure profile) for a given composite system, t...

Manufacturing and Shear Response Characterization of Carbon Nanofiber Modified CFRP Using the Out-of-Autoclave-Vacuum-Bag-Only Cure Process

The interlaminar shear response is studied for carbon nanofiber (CNF) modified out-of-autoclave-vacuum-bag-only (OOA-VBO) carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). Commercial OOA-VBO prepregs were coated with a CNF modified epoxy solution and a control epoxy solution without CNF to make CNF modified samples and control samples, respectively. Tensile testing was used to study the in-plane shear pe...

Defect Reduction Strategies for the Manufacture of Contoured Laminates Using Vacuum Bag-Only Prepregs

Complex structures manufactured using low-pressure vacuum bag-only (VBO) prepreg processing are more susceptible to defects than flat laminates due to complex compaction conditions present at sharp corners. Consequently, effective defect mitigation strategies are required to produce structural parts. In this study, we investigated the relationships between laminate properties, processing condit...

Electron-Beam Curing of Acrylate/Nanoparticle Impregnated Wood Products

This study investigated the feasibility of using an electron beam (EB) process to cure chemically impregnated wood products. Maple wood planks were impregnated with the low-viscosity resins 1,6 hexanediol dimethacrylate (HDDA) and trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TMPTA). The addition of nanoparticles into the formulation was also studied. The impregnated wood was then cured by EB irradiation...
